From what would have normally been a silent, tranquil night came the worst thing that Nippon could have ever seen. Not one person in the whole country noticed as the black cloud slid over the bright, white moon, and covered the stars in a shadowy glaze...   

     On a mountain outside the Capital, Sei-an City, was a shrine made out of the purest silver stone, and within it was a beautiful statue of a howling wolf, the wolf was made out of white marble, with rubies patterning its diving white coat. The posts that held up the shrine were covered with intricate drawings of the wolf. Near the bottom of one of the poles was a drawing being created. It was the wolf running gracefully along, with a tiny creature standing atop its head. This tiny creature, was in fact the one painting the wolf.
    Issun, the Celestial Envoy, stood on the ground, his brush held high, inking the picture of the great Sun-God, Amaterasu upon her shrine. As the cloud slid over the moon and stars, he looked up. They had been his source of light. He sighed and leant against the post. The cloud over the moon waved and swirled over the sky, and formed itself into a spiral, almost like an abyss, sucking the light from the sky.

"That can't be right..." Muttered Issun.

The cloud swirled round and round, and a gentle breeze swept over. Issun was blown a few feet forwards. When he looked upwards, the dark cloud was shaping itself into what loked like some kind of demonic monster.

"No... Not again..." Issun moaned.

He turned to face the statue of Amaterasu. Hopping up onto her heavenward-gazing head, he looked into her stone eyes.
"Furball... Ammy..." He said, shakily. "Something's not right... can you help us..?"

Nothing happened to the statue. The cloud was taking a more distinguishable form. It looked to have the head of some kind of reptile, and a four-armed, two-legged body and an uncountable amount of tails.

"Ammy.." Issun squealed. "HELP!"

The statue remained normal. Issun sunk to his knees and shivered. This was not good. he had seen almost every kind of evil there was, from simple imps to giant demons. But this wasn't like any of them. This was something that reeked of evil older than Nippon itself. Issun turned back to the statue. It had been there for almost a year now, and was starting to get weathered. There was a chunk of ear missing, and a chip in her snout. Issun pulled out his brush and coloured in the chip on her snout. The ink evaporated instantly, leaving behing a flawless repair.

"Rejuvination..." he whispered to himself.

Issun hopped over to her ear and filled that in to. Amaterasu was complete, and somehow, the statue felt warmer. The demon turned to look in Sei-an's general direction. It snarled, and the earth trembled.

"AMMY! HELP!" Issun screamed.

Everything went black as the demon roared. Issun squealed, and saw slight movement in front of him. A glow was being emitted from the moving thing. issun squinted, trying to see what it was. He could just about make out a head... legs... and it opened it's mouth to speak:

"Bonjour, Ma Cherie..."
